(0:14) So long they have waited as a nation<\/span>
\nFor a sign of liberation,<\/span>
\nKnowing the Messiah soon would come.<\/span>
\nSo sure if they prayed with perseverance<\/span>
\nHe would make a swift appearance<\/span>
\nBringing the pow’r to overcome<\/span><\/p>\n

(0:48) The people said, “We need a Saviour,<\/span>
\nWho’ll come in glory and power<\/span>
\nOh Lord, hear our cry.<\/span>
\n‘Cause you know we need him now!”<\/span>
\nThe people said: “Send us a strong King<\/span>
\nA man from God to end our suffering<\/span>
\nOh Lord, hear our cry.”<\/span><\/p>\n

(1:16) Longing for a sweeter taste of freedom<\/span>
\nAnd the day that they would see Him<\/span>
\nComing to lead their people on.<\/span>
\nReigning as the conquering avenger,<\/span>
\nWatching enemies surrender,<\/span>
\nAnd finding that liberty had come.<\/span><\/p>\n

(1:50) The people said, “We need a Saviour,<\/span>
\nWho’ll come in glory and power.<\/span>
\nOh Lord, hear our cry.<\/span>
\n‘Cause you know we need Him now!”<\/span>
\nThe people said, “Send us a strong King<\/span>
\nA man from God to end our suffering<\/span>
\nOh Lord, hear our cry.”<\/span><\/p>\n

(2:15) And when He came in His might,<\/span>
\nThe waiting would know of its worth<\/span>
\nFor they would govern with Him<\/span>
\nAnd rule over all the earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

(2:32) The people said, “We need a Saviour,<\/span>
\nWho’ll come in glory and power.<\/span>
\nOh Lord, hear our cry.<\/span>
\n‘Cause you know we need him Now!”<\/span>
\nThe people said: “Send us a strong King<\/span>
\nA man from God to end our suffering<\/span>
\nOh Lord, hear our cry.”<\/span><\/p>\n

(3:08) Redemption did not come as they expected<\/span>
\nFor He came not as a king,<\/span>
\nNor as a thing of beauty,<\/span>
\nThat they should desire Him<\/span><\/p>\n

(3:46) Who has believed our message?<\/span>
\nAnd to whom has the are of the Lord been revealed?<\/span>
\nHe grew up before Him as a tender shoot,<\/span>
\nAnd like a root out of dry ground<\/span>
\nHe was a Man of sorrows.<\/span><\/p>\n

(4:08) He was despised and rejected by man<\/span>
\nA Man who was acquainted with grief,<\/span>
\nAnd as one from whom men hid their faces,<\/span>
\nWe regarded as one who was stricken by God<\/span>
\nHe was a Man of sorrows. He was a Man of sorrows.<\/span><\/p>\n

(4:38) He was pierced, for our transgressions,<\/span>
\nHe was bruised, for our iniquities,<\/span>
\nBy His stripes we are healed<\/span>
\nHe bore our griefs, He was afflicted,<\/span>
\nHe was despised; we turned our backs on Him.<\/span>
\nA Man of sorrows. A Man of sorrows.<\/span><\/p>\n

(5:07) It was God’s plan to bruise Him,<\/span>
\nThat His soul be made an offering for sin.<\/span>
\nBy the fruit of His suffering He was satisfied.<\/span>
\nThis righteous servant made many righteous,<\/span>
\nOh, precious Man of sorrows,<\/span><\/p>\n

(5:32) For he was pierced, for our transgressions,<\/span>
\nHe was bruised, for our iniquities,<\/span>
