Hey Beta, here are our announcements for the week! 🙂

-This Saturday, October 11th Outreach at Joshua’s Hands. (in Waterford, Virginia) Meet at Giant at 7:00am. Back around 8:15pm. Meals provided. Wear your maroon shirts and black pants, socks, and shoes. We’ll be wearing mime paint, so girls, have your hair done. We will be presenting three different times and here are the song lists (in order)… First: TIAG, Healing Begins, Via Dolorosa, Go. Second: TIAG, Love is a Cross, In the Light, End of the Beginning. Third: TIAG, Healing Begins, Via Dolorosa, Love is a Cross, End of the Beginning, In the Light, Go.

-Tuesday, October 14th Outreach @ Grace Baptist Church of Millersville. We will be having our practice there as well, so meet at Grace Baptist at normal practice time, 3:30pm. Done around 8:30pm. Wear your light gray shirts and jeans. Supper provided.

-Saturday, October 18th (Optional) Advanced Bible Study workshop at the King’s. (241 Blimline Rd, Mohnton) 9:00am-2:00pm. Bring a packed lunch.

-Sunday, October 19th Beta social @ the Martin’s house at 4:30pm. RSVP to Caleb as soon as possible!

-Thursday, October 30th Alpha/Beta social @ Blue Ball Church of the Brethren, sometime in the evening. RSVP to Brooke (email: brooke.a.bias@gmail.com).

-Friday, October 31st Outreach @ Bethany E.C. from about 5:00-8:00pm.

-Sunday, November 16th is the “You Should Come To This” – Parent Presentation that will be held at Blue Ball Church of the Brethren from 7:00-9:00pm. Team members need to arrive at 6:00pm.

-Possible Outreach information: Saturday, December 6th, from 12:00-5:00pm. RSVP to either Ben or Rachael.

Here are the announcements from Beta practice (9/30/14)!

-This Saturday, October 4th Workday at Carlos & Migdalia’s. Meet at Giant at 6:30am, and we’ll be back around 9:00pm. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Bring a packed supper or money. We still need another driver and vehicle; Let Tim know if you know of anyone who would be willing do it.

Praise! Alisha and Emily had an accident last week, but they are safe and their dad was able to mostly fix Lizzie (Alisha’s car). 🙂

Emily: Her Bible study is next week. ~ Application from study, finding peace in God amidst the busyness/stress.

Lydia: Praise! Figured out where she is applying for college. Prayer as she now has a lot of applications to fill out and also for creativity for the essays she has to write. ~ Needs to adjust her attitude. ~ Her sister Emily is having a difficult time at school.

Alisha: Needs to ask off work for Colombia. ~ Praise! Sent out support letters.

Lenita: Figuring out future plans.

Rachael: Stressful week as she is studying for her permit, taking care of the house while her parents are gone, and has a lot of school. ~ Praise! Got her support letters out. ~ For her father as there is some issues that the church is struggling with. For a resolution to those things.

Korissa: Not going back to all her old bad habits. ~ To use her time well. ~ To figure everything out with vehicles for her break. ~ Unsure of what she is doing for next year. ~ To be able to focus when she gets back on the road.

Ben: Looking for a job. ~ Devos need to improve.

Phil: Their grandpa is dealing with scams.

Tim: His brother Matt had a tooth infection, for a good recovery from the doctor’s visit. ~ Preparation as he is preaching at the Spanish church. ~ He misplaced his wallet. ~ Work on Spanish and focus on relationship.

Chris: To be intentional about his time, use it wisely. ~ Build relationships when talking with people. ~ Patience.

Scott: Motivation to do school. ~ Work on Colombia support.

Jaybin: School, to catch up from break.

General: Fund raising for Colombia.

Everyone: Praise! Outreach this past Sunday went really well! ~ Preparation for Friends and Family Presentation for all of the teams.

Tim: A past member is doing Bible studies in her school and using Tim as a resource. For him, that he would be helpful, and for her as she is leading this. ~ Response team outreach this coming Sunday morning. ~ Friends and Family Presentation this Sunday. ~ He is not feeling well and needs to get better. ~ Praise/prayer, Intern coming next year. Wisdom for planning for that. ~ Wisdom for planning the Colombia trip.

Emily: Lots of schoolwork. ~ Going to Colombia! Needs to raise funds, which makes her kinda nervous. ~ To actually apply her application from the study, which was to spend time with her siblings even if it doesn’t benefit her.

Lydia: College decisions/applications, she needs to get them done soon. ~ Praise/prayer, driving test coming up! ~ Praise! Has had a really joyful attitude in general lately. ~ To spend more time on friends/to know how best to react to certain friends who have problems going on. ~ To get over her sickness/cold. ~ To have a more consistent prayer/devos life.

Jaybin: Bible study application.

Alisha: Going to Colombia! But she is really dreading getting off work, etc. ~ Hard-hitting application from study! Needs to really work on spending time with Maria.

Rachael: Anxious about writing support letter for Colombia. ~ Has been procrastinating in school in the recent weeks so that it all piles up to the day before.

Phil: Having trouble communicating with his family. ~ His grandpa in back into dealing with scammers. ~ Praise! Doing things with family. ~ Behind on school and devos.

Jaybin: To spend time with friends.

Chris: Praise! Bible study is over. ~ Prayer for him as Jessica is away from home for the holidays, and he will miss her.

Ben: Bible study in two weeks, needs time to prepare and have good insights. ~ He is very stressed over a lot, especially college. ~ Wants to apply for another job, needs confidence and wisdom.

Scott: Needs to study Bible quizzing more. ~ To get moving on the things he needs to do for Colombia.

Lenita: Needs to spend her time better as she is very busy. ~ Application from study, to spend more time with family and friends.

Everyone: Application from study. ~ Outreach on Sunday.

Alisha: Praise! Bible study went really well. She was able to find time to study for it. ~ Application from study, to keep submitting her future to God.

Ben: Weighing options for the future. ~ Praise! His conversation with some missionaries about Word of Life went well. ~ Considering another job. ~ Wants to continue to grow closer to God.

Rachael: Study really hit home. Has anger that she needs to let go. Also, to be ok with where God is taking her life, submit to Him. ~ Praise/prayer, motivation toward school has been better, but still needs work.

Emily: Has a lot of schoolwork to get done. To be able to finish it in time and not to get too stressed.

Chris: Bible study is next week. ~ Jessica isn’t going to be home for Thanksgiving. ~ Attitude about future plans.

Phil: School. ~ His mom is stressed about her parents.

Lenita: Very busy. ~ Future plans.

Jaybin: School.

Lydia: Praise! Getting a plan together for college. ~ To continue to let God lead and not be ashamed of her plans. ~ Visiting a college Friday. ~ Visiting Messiah College on Tuesday to get advice about faith in theater industry.

Scott: Praise! School is going well. ~ Still working towards permit.

Tim: Praise! Spoke Sunday at a conference and it was well received. ~ Spanish language skills. ~ Support family with event.

Melissa: Cut her finger at work.

Ben: Enjoying the gift of music. ~ Praise/request, Good talks with parents.

Scott: Obeying parents. ~ Has done well with school.

Rachael: Needs swelling to go down so she can eat. She is getting weak from lack of solid food. ~ Lots of homework to do.

Lenita: Eczema acting up. ~ Future. ~ Submitting to God’s plans. ~ Job interview tomorrow (Wednesday), how to make this job work.

Chris: Busy lately, Bible study coming up, which has been a little difficult. ~ Time management and keeping up with friends. ~ Pursuing wisdom and maturity in life.

Tim: Speaking at conference this weekend. Pray that God’s Word would be shared faithfully. ~ Continue to learn Spanish. ~ Trust God with next year’s schedule.

Jen: Her mom’s knee surgery is on Monday, stress for Jen with picking up her mom’s work. ~ Bible study application.

Alisha: Working on Bible study for next week, to be disciplined in finding time for it. ~ Bible study application… struggling with being completely devoted to God and not getting distracted/caught up in other things.

Phil: School not going so well. ~ Praise! Computer programming going well. ~ His mom is stressed out.

Jaybin: School is going well. ~ Algebra not going well. ~ Bible study really hit home. ~ Spanish test this Thursday.

Emily: Bible study application. ~ There is a cold going around in their family.

Lydia: Wisdom for what to do with a certain group of friends. ~ Very nervous about acting class this evening (yesterday).

Here are the prayer requests. I thought this was a neat way of doing it because everyone got to put their prayer requests into their own words. I just wish I could have added the very odd-looking person that was drawn on Ben’s paper. It’s kind of amusing, mostly just disturbing, and it makes me smile every time I look at it. But anyway, here they are:

Phil: School is as hard as ever, a little behind. ~ Devos, it’s a struggle to find time for them. ~ Needs a good attitude throughout the day. ~ Praise! Doing more stuff with his Dad. Enjoys programming.

Lydia: Diligence in getting college applications done, and persistence in praying about the future. ~ Learn final skills of driving before test. ~ Stop letting perfection/excessive self-criticism become idols. ~ Praise! Been having great talks with parents. ~ Needs to find a balance of time with friends and giving herself solitary time. ~ Be more consistent with devotions.

Rachael: Praise! Her brother’s wedding went beautifully! ~ She getting her wisdom teeth out on Friday, for safe surgery and quick recovery. ~ Motivation to do school (feeling very lazy). ~ Wants to go to Colombia, but has fears about fund-raising.

Alisha: Bible study application, examining motives. ~ Praise! She got off work for Thursday’s outreach! ~ Finding time to work on Bible study, which is in two weeks.

Scott(a.k.a. Bob): School, to keep up with it. ~ Do better on devos, and to find time for them. ~ Applying for more jobs.

Tim: Praise! Epsilon is starting back up. ~ Discipline in leading four teams. ~ Wisdom in church decision. Thinking of switching to Iglesia Christiana de York. ~ Still working on Spanish! ~ Wisdom in booking DRAMA’s 2014 schedule and dealing with/accepting unknowns in both ministry and relationships.

Jaybin: Bible study is next week. ~ School. ~ Devos, need to do them more often. ~ Need to work on goals.

Lenita: Future plans, trusting God for his calling in her life. ~ Applying the Bible study, knowing what to say and when to say it. ~ Being content with God has her. ~ Liking her job more.

Ben: Manage his time better (slow to get to work on school, wastes time). ~ Seek direction for future. ~ Find ways to apply scripture. ~ Praise/request, Starting to participate on church worship team.

Chris: Praise! His dad got home from Nebraska safely. ~ Wisdom for a variety of decisions coming up. ~ Schedule is busy, it has been difficult re-adjusting to the busyness. ~ Epsilon starting. ~ Personal devotions need work. ~ Outreach coming up.

Emily: Safety as she learns to drive (but praise, that she enjoys it). ~ Looking for a job. ~ Wisdom for decision about Colombia. ~ Praise! Bible study for youth group went very well.

Sorry, these are a little late, but here they are nonetheless!

Lydia: Praise! She dropped a class, actually has free time now. Also, she is doing very well in calculus. ~ Prayer for Tuesday night (this past one) as they was presenting a scene in her acting class they hadn’t practiced much. ~ Figuring out stuff for next year, doing college applications.

Emily: Prayer for her Bible study for youth group Wednesday evening. (praise! It went very well) ~ Looking for a job.

Tim: Diligence in getting stuff done, wisdom to know what is a priority. Not to get discouraged with all the things to do. ~ To be diligent and have realistic expectations while learning Spanish. ~ Doing a Bible study workshop with a church, for those who attend to use it.

Lenita: Not sure of what she’s doing next year, to take time to look into that and figure it out. ~ Praise! Her study is over, but she could have done better with preparing.

Praise! Both outreaches this past Saturday went very well! Prayer for the two outreaches coming up next Thursday.

Chris: Devotions slipping a bit, deciding what to do to get back on track. ~ Finding time for prayer/quiet time, especially with busy week. ~ Lots of areas in life are in a good place; maintaining that walk. ~ Keeping a willing spirit, especially on team.

Scott: Lots of homework, busy week. ~ Busyness, keeping up with devotions. ~ Getting over sickness

Alisha: Has a cold. ~ Needs to get off work for next outreach.

Hannah: Returning home. Looking for a support group out in Wyoming. Praise! Blessed by everyone and her time here.

Outreaches on Saturday. Chris, Alisha, and Shirah as they will be speaking and running the outreaches.

Chris: Getting used to a busier schedule, time complications. Praise/request, most future stuff is figured out that needs to be, following through with it. Praise! Car bills paid off.

Tim: Praise! Was able to share about Scotland at his church. Praise! Thankful for the encouragement from a group of pastors and a prayer group. Needs to learn Spanish, to have diligence, trust God, and have the right heart.

Rachael: PSAT’s and lots of homework to do today (Wednesday). Her brother’s wedding in coming up, stress in household. To have a positive attitude about her youth group. Lacking in sleep, needs to get to bed on time. Anxiety about the future, needs to trust God.

Ben: Weighing future options, possibly Word of Life Bible Institute.

Lydia: Figuring out future plans and taking time to pray about them.

Alisha: Future plans, needs to think and pray about them.

Emily: To be obedient when God calls her to do something. Praise/request, got her permit, safety as she learns to drive.

Lenita: Her Bible study is next week. To be open to talking to others at her church. Very busy with work.

Scott: Praise! Ultimate frisbee team is starting up again, which makes things more busy. Praise/request, sent in more job applications, to get responses on them.

Girls prayer requests

Lenita ~ Praise! New nanny job went well.

Hannah ~ Praise! Her Bible studies went really well. ~ Prayer as she is heading home soon. For her last week to go well, to remember what she wants to take home. Also, for the transition from here back to home to go well.

Alisha ~ Prayer for younger sister Maria, who is leading the Sprouts study Wednesday, for that to go well.

Emily ~ Wisdom for her to know how to help one of the Sprouts lead the Bible study next Wednesday. ~ Going to get her driver’s permit sometime in the near future.

Rachael ~ PSATs next Wednesday, needs to study. ~ Has a lot of stress right now.

Lydia ~ Increasing amount of trouble focusing on her schoolwork, to rely on God to help her stay focused. ~ Needs to work on college auditions.
