DRAMA at Camp

Eder 2, July 2014

Hello Friends,
DRAMA is again at camp. This week and the next we’re partnering with Woodcrest Retreat. We’ve been partnering with them every summer since 2002. We’re thrilled to be back with them teaching Bible lessons. Pray for our team as many of them have been at multiple camp ministries this summer. Below is a video of our time at Camp Eder two weeks ago. If you are reading this by e-mail and don’t see the video (or didn’t see them on the last e-mail), click this link to see them on our website: DRAMAministry Blog

Back to the Snow

Back to the SnowWell Friends, we made it home. These last few days we wrapped up as many projects as we could. The CVII office is painted and tiled and ready to be moved back into. The girls house has a new room ready with fresh paint and a whole new tile floor put in. 100’s of shirts were screen printed and uniforms fitted so that the kids could wear them to school, all this in addition to hours in the warehouse sorting supplies to be used at the home or in humanitarian work. Our last day in Bogota, we got to do a joint DRAMA presentation with the local team celebrating Valentines Day and talking about the love of God as seen in Christ. Thank you for your many prayers. As you can see in the picture above, we were greeted home by many inches of snow, but despite the weather our flights were all on time and our drive home was safe and uneventful.

You can learn more about Children’s Vision and their work in Colombia here: http://www.childrensvision.org/. While we have returned home, they are still serving and have many needs. From their daily needs in housing and schooling street children to the ongoing building projects (currently at a standstill due to funding), to the maintenance of their medical facilities, there is no end to the need for support. If you’d like to help out, they have a page on their site for giving: http://www.childrensvision.org/donate.htm.

Pancakes & Praises

Pancakes and Praises

Hello Friends,

Just checking in to say we’re doing well. Been pretty busy the past few days between work projects and training. The local team is doing great in our practices – they have picked on some more complicated routines faster than was expected. Thank you for your prayers! Today we went to church the children from the home and took them out to eat for a special meal together. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun for everyone. Then tonight was pancake night where we served the kids all the pancakes they could eat. Tomorrow (Monday) we’re back to the work and teach schedule. Just three more days!

God Bless!

Ways to pray:
– energy to hold out through the days the remain
– good attitudes even when we are tired (team has been exceptional, in my opinion, so far)
– that we would leave the local team well equipped for a big ministry event they will travel to at the end of the month
– that we could finish several of the work projects that we’re helping with since we are the last team coming until June

Days 1 and 2

Colombia - Days 1 and 2

Hello Friends,

We’re hard at work and have begin training with the local team. Our work teams are removing and replacing floors in two of the buildings and the rest of the group has helped cut vegetables, prepare school uniforms and even help with some screen printing. Each evening we meet with the youth and continue the mime training. The local team has three new members that we are helping train up and incorporate into the mimes they know as well as introduce new mimes.

Keep praying for:
– unity on our team and the local team, especially that the new members would feel full welcomed and accepted
– energy as we work and teach
– health (every one is doing good so far!)
– spiritual growth: whether in our daily Bible times or our ministry interactions, we want to be open to God’s leading and instruction
– Praise! My (Tim) laptop took a fall in the airport as I came through security and the keyboard was not working…. but I’m typing this message from it now. Simply removing and reinserting the keyboard was all it took. Praise God!

In Christ,
-tim

Training and Departure

Well Friends, today we go to the airport and head for warmer climates. We’ve been training since Saturday and today (Monday) we’re finishing things up and polishing the mime routines. We’ll be flying out of Newark tonight so you can be in prayer that the show doesn’t cause too much trouble in our travels to the airport and, of course, our flight schedules. I’ll try to update you all tomorrow or Wednesday morning with how that all came out. Not much longer now!

God Bless,

Final Preparations

Returning to Colombia

Hello Friends,

DRAMA is again heading out to Bogota, Colombia to partner with Children’s Vision International and our sister discipleship team that they operate. We are excited to see our friends again and encourage them in their ministry as well as aid in work projects at the children’s home and humanitarian aid in the villages on the outskirts of Bogota.

We are just a few days from starting our training prior to heading out on the trip. Please be praying for the whole team as they make their final preparations and say “good bye” to their families.

Most of the funds needed to travel have come in. As I type this, we are just shy of 83% toward our goal. There remains, however, $2,976 still to come in for the team’s total need. Each member is responsible to raise a portion, so this number represents the total of all deficits. Would you consider giving toward our trip to help us get this last bit covered? You can use the links below to support a particular member (if they reach their goal it will go to whoever needs it most) or click the last link to have it go to the greatest need. You can also give by writing a check to “DRAMA Ministry” and sending it with a separate note indicating that it is for the Colombia 2014 trip to: 241 Blimline Rd., Mohnton, PA 19540.

I’ll keep posting updates as we go through the trip. Please follow along and keep us in prayer.

God Bless!

Colombia Giving

This winter from February 4 through 13, 2014, DRAMA is leading a team to Bogota, Colombia again to partner with Children’s Vision International Inc. (www.childrensvision.org). CVII takes abandoned, abused, and high-risk infants and small children from the street to provide twenty-four hours a day/seven days a week care. This includes a home, food, clothing, education, recreation, and full medical attention.

The trip starts on February 2 when we will begin training and we hope to arrive in Colombia and start ministry by February 4. From there our base of operations will be the campus of Children’s Vision International in the city of Bogota. We will be working primarily right on CVII’s campus with the children and youth who live there. DRAMA has helped the CVII children to start their own discipleship team in the past, so this trip will focus on strengthening and equipping them for ministry. Along with training and outreach opportunities along side the local team, our team will also help with work projects around the CVII property.

Our team this year has 16 members and each are trying to raise funds toward our costs. If you’d like to help any of them in particular, you can click on the button below with their name. If you’d just like to give toward the trip as a whole, the button at the end labeled “Greatest Need” can be used. You can also just send a check made out to DRAMA Ministry with a note specifying an individual’s name or the trip to: DRAMA Ministry c/o David King, 241 Blimline Rd., Mohnton, PA 19540.

Either way, we’d love for you t be praying for us as we serve!
Thanks and God Bless,
-tim

Goodbye Drop-in

Hey Folks!

We’re having a send off for our Intern, Hannah Poch, this Sunday. I know many of you, at various times, got to hang out with her and encourage her while she stayed with us. Well, her Pa time is almost ended and soon she’ll be shoveling snow back in Wyoming. If you’d like a chance to drop in and say “bye” before she leaves, here is your chance.

Where: King’s House, 241 Blimline Rd., Mohnton, PA 19540

When: This Sunday, Oct. 13. We’ll do this drop-in style from 3:30pm on into the evening. There is one interruption, though – from 6-7pm we’ll be over at Mohn’s Hill E. C. Church sharing about DRAMA’s recent trip to Scotland. You are all welcome to come to that as well.

What: If you can, bring some snacks or a drink to share. If you’re super nice, you could even e-mail Tim (tim@dramateam.org) and tell him you’re coming and what you’re bringing. That’d definitely be cool.

Drop-in for Hannah

Scotland Update

Midweek Update

Hello Friends,

Just another quick update with a host of pictures attached. Our presentations on Sunday went very well and the preaching was well received. Since then we’ve spent our mornings helping with the Burntisland Holiday Club (VBS). Our afternoons doing outdoor events for teenagers alternately in Burntisland and Kinghorn from one day to the next. Our evenings, however, have varied. Yesterday (Wednesday) we were able to travel to a church group outside of Perth and give a presentation and workshop. You can be praying that the youth there will decide to continue with what we taught them and perhaps pull together some presentations of their own. Tonight we will have our big event for the local teenagers including a bonfire on the beach if the weather permits. Please be praying that the Lord would draw the the right youth out to this event and use it for His purposes. The next night we’ll be helping with the Holiday Club’s family night.

Here are some photos from the past few days:

Training Days

Training DaysWell Friends, there’s not a lot to be said about the last few days. We’ve been working hard at learning all the mime routines that we might use over the next few days. The team has handled the time transition quite well. We’re glad to finally have the full team together – all UK and US members accounted for. They’ve all been getting along well. I’ve already begun to forget that we’ve not all been on a team together before.

Continue to pray that we would be unified as a team going forward. Also, tomorrow (Sunday) we will be presenting at three different church gatherings and I (Tim) will share a message on discipleship at one of them. These will be the first presentations for our team, so pray that God would encourage them and give them boldness. The first two will be at the same time in different churches, so pray also for the team that will have to present without my help.

Alright, enough talk. Here are some pictures:
