Be Kind To Yourself

Be Kind To Yourself                                                                                                                     By Andrew Peterson

(0:10) You’ve got all that emotion that’s heaving like an ocean
And you’re drowning in a deep, dark well
I can hear it in your voice that if you only had a choice
You would rather be anyone else

(0:28) I love you just the way that you are
I love the way He made your precious heart

(0:27) Be kind to yourself
Be kind to yourself

(0:46) I know it’s hard to hear it when that anger in your spirit
Is pointed like an arrow at your chest
When the voices in your mind are anything but kind
And you can’t believe your Father knows best

(1:04) I love you just the way that you are
I love the way He’s shaping your heart

(1:13) Be kind to yourself
Be kind to yourself

(1:22) Well how does it end when the war that you’re in
Is just you against you against you
Gotta learn to love, learn to love
Learn to love your enemies too

(1:44) You can’t expect to be perfect
It’s a fight you’ve gotta forfeit
You belong to me whatever you do
So lay down your weapon, darling
Take a deep breath and believe that I love you

(2:02) Be kind to yourself
Be kind to yourself
Be kind to yourself

(2:16) Gotta learn to love, learn to love
Learn to love your enemies
Gotta learn to love, learn to love
Learn to love your enemies too

When Love Sees You

Blessed are you, as you weep on your knees
With perfume and tears washing over My feet
Blessed are you, beggar, hopeless and blind
Calling for mercy when I’m passing by
Blessed are you, shaking your head
At two tiny fish and some bread
Blessed are you as you tremble and wait
For the first stone thrown at your sinful disgrace

Tell me your story, show me your wounds
And I’ll show you what Love sees when Love looks at you
Hand me the pieces, broken and bruised

And I’ll show you what Love sees when Love sees you

Blessed are you, walking on waves
To find yourself sinking when you look away
Blessed are you, leper, standing alone,
The fear on their faces, is all that you’ve known
Blessed are you, lonely widow
Who gave your last shiny coin to Yahweh
Blessed are you with your silver and lies,
Kissing the One who’s saving your life

Tell me your story, show me your wounds
And I’ll show you what Love sees when Love looks at you
Hand me the pieces, broken and bruised
And I’ll show you what Love sees when Love sees you

I see what I made in your mother’s womb
I see the day I fell in love with you.

I see your tomorrows, nothing left to chance
I see My Father’s fingerprints
I see your story, I see My name
Written on every beautiful page
You see the struggle, you see the shame
I see the reason I came

I came for your story, I came for your wounds
To show you what Love sees when I see you

When I see you
When I see you

Belly of a Whale

Chorus

Belly of a whale, Belly of a whale,

3 whole days in the belly of a whale.

This is not some tall, tall tale;

Jonah was in the belly of a whale, belly of a whale.

Versus 1

Jonah was a man of God

who heard the voice of the Lord.

But he did not listen; he ran away.

He found a ship and climbed on board

Not a good idea Jonah.

Chorus

Versus 2

Then God sent a mighty storm

That nearly sunk the ship.

Jonah said “Throw me overboard,

For I am running away from the Lord”

Oh no Jonah!

Chorus

Versus 3

Then God sent a great big whale

To Swallow Jonah down

And take him back to Ninava

Where Jonah preached all through the town

Way to go Jonah!

Chorus

Belly of a whale, Belly of a whale,

3 whole days in the belly of a whale.

This is not some tall, tall tale;

Jonah was in the belly of a whale.

This is not some tall, tall tale;

Jonah was in the belly of a whale, belly of a whale.

Deathbed

Relient K

(0:33) I can smell the death on the sheets
Covering me
I can’t believe this is the end

(0:54)But this is my deathbed
I lie here alone
If I close my eyes tonight
I know I’ll be home

(1:18) The year was nineteen forty one
I was eight years old and
Far far too young
To know that the stories
Of battles and glory
Was a tale a kind mother
Made up for her son
You see
Dad was a traveling preacher
Teaching the words of the Teacher
But mother had sworn
Went off to the war
And died there with honor
Somewhere on a beach there
But he left once to never return
Which taught me that I should unlearn
Whatever I thought a father should be
I abandoned that thought
Like he abandoned me

(2:08) By forty seven I was fourteen
I’d acquired a taste for liquor and nicotine
I smoked until I threw up
Yet I still lit ’em up for thirty more years
Like a machine

(2:26) So right there you have it
That one filthy habit
Is what got me where I am today

(2:39) I can smell the death on the sheets
Covering me
I can’t believe this is the end
I can hear those sad memories
Still haunting me
So many things
I’d do again

(3:13) But this is my deathbed
I lie here alone
If I close my eyes tonight
I know I’ll be home

(3:30) I got married on my twenty first
Eight months before my wife would give birth
It’s easier to be sure you love someone
When her father inquires with the barrel of a gun
The union was far from harmonious
No two people could have been more alone than us
The years would go by and she’d love someone else
And I realized I hadn’t been loved yet myself

(4:03) From there it’s your typical spiel
Yeah if life was a highway
I was drunk at the wheel
I was helping the loose ends
All fall apart
Yeah I swear I was destined to fail
And fail from the start

(4:22) I bowled about six times a week
The bottle of Beam kept the memories from me
Our marriage had taken a seven-ten split
Along with my pride the ex-wife took the kids

(4:39) I can smell the death on the sheets
Covering me
I can’t believe this is the end
I can hear those sad memories
Still haunting me
So many things
I’d do again

(5:13) But this is my deathbed
I lie here alone
If I close my eyes tonight
I know I’ll be home

(5:30) I was so scared of Jesus
But He sought me out
Like the cancer in my lungs
It’s killing me now
And I’ve given up hope
On the days I have left
But I cling to the hope
Of my life in the next
Then Jesus showed up
Said “Before we go”
“I thought that we might reminisce”
“See one night in your life”
“When you turned out the light”
“You asked for and prayed for my forgiveness”

(6:05) You cried wolf
The tears they soaked your fur
The blood dripped from your fangs
You said, “What have I done?”
You loved that lamb
With every sinful bone
And there you wept alone
Your heart was so contrite

(6:34) You said, “Jesus, please forgive me of my crimes
Sanctify this withered heart of mine
Stay with me until my life is through
And on that day please take me home with you”

(7:05) I can smell the death on the sheets
Covering me
I can’t believe this is the end
I can hear You whisper to me,
“It’s time to leave
You’ll never be lonely again”

(7:43) But this was my deathbed
I died there alone
When I closed my eyes tonight
You carried me home

(~8:05 long musical segment)

(10:01) I am the Way
Follow Me
And take My hand
And I am the Truth
Embrace Me and you’ll understand
And I am the Life
And for Me you’ll live again
For I am Love
I am Love
I, I am Love

Healing Begins

Tenth Avenue North

(0:20) So you thought you had to keep this up
All the work that you do
So we think that you’re good
And you can’t believe it’s not enough
All the walls you built up
Are just glass on the outside

(0:41) So let ’em fall down
There’s freedom waiting in the sound
When you let your walls fall to the ground
We’re here now

(1:01) This is where the healing begins, oh
This is where the healing starts
When you come to where you’re broken within
The light meets the dark
The light meets the dark

(1:31) Afraid to let your secrets out
Everything that you hide
Can come crashing through the door now
But too scared to face all your fear
So you hide but you find
That the shame won’t disappear

(1:50) So let it fall down
There’s freedom waiting in the sound
When you let your walls fall to the ground
We’re here now
We’re here now, oh

(2:15) This is where the healing begins, oh
This is where the healing starts
When you come to where you’re broken within
The light meets the dark
The light meets the dark

(2:41) Sparks will fly as grace collides
With the dark inside of us
So please don’t fight
This coming light
Let this blood come cover us
His blood can cover us

(3:21) This is where the healing begins, oh
This is where the healing starts
When you come to where you’re broken within
The light meets the dark
The light meets the dark

(3:55) -song ends-

You Were There

Avalon

(0:34) I wonder how it must have felt
When David stood to face Goliath on a hill
I imagine that he shook with all his might
Until You took his hand, and held on tight

(1:03) ‘Cause You were there, You were there
In the midst of danger’s snare
You were there, You were there always
You were there when the hardest fight
Seemed so out of reach
Oh, You were there, You were always there
You were always there

(1:48) So there he stood upon that hill
Abraham with knife in hand was poised to kill
But God in all his sovereignty had bigger plans
And just in time, You brought a lamb

(2:17) ‘Cause You were there,
You were there
In the midst of the unclear
You were there, you were there always
You were there when obedience
Seemed to not make sense
You were there, You were always there
You were always there

(2:56) So haven’t I learned that my ways
Aren’t as high as Yours are
And You alone keep the universe
From crumbling into dust
You are God and though we would
Not have understood You
There You were

(3:23) Hanging blameless on a cross
You would rather die than leave us in the dark
Every moment, every planned coincidence
Just all makes sense
With Your last breath

(3:53) You were there, You were there
During history’s darkest hour
You were there, You were there always
You were the Victor and the King
You were the power in David’s swing
You were the calm in Abraham
You are the God who understands
You are the strength when we have none
You are the living, Holy one
You were, You are and You will always be
the Risen Lamb of God

(5:07) You were, You are and You will always be
You were, You are and You will always be
You were, You are and You will always be
You were, You are and You will always be
You were, You are and You will always be
The Risen Lamb of God

You were, You are and You will always be
The Risen Lamb of God

What Would You Do for a King

Clay Crosse

(0:21) What would you do for a king
If He won all the battles He went out to fight
And returned as a hero on a starlit night to a cheering crowd…
Would it make you proud?

(0:43) And what would you do for a king
If He kept every promise that He’d ever made
Would you get out the tickertape and lead a parade, a society ball…
Or would you care at all?

(1:05) Kings always seemed to me as such grand, imposing men
So full of stature, full of power
Such great authority in every word they say
I never thought I was quite the type
But I’d still love to meet one someday

(1:32) So what would you do for a king
If He came to your door, would you ask Him in
Would you tell Him how much you admired Him
Do you think you’d dare
Or would you be to scared?

(1:55) Most king’s don’t seem to know much about the common man
So far removed and set apart
I cheer with thousands, we blend into a roar
Another face in an endless crowd
Is that all I really am, just one more…

(2:21) So what would you do for a king
If He saw you fishing out by the sea
And He walked up to you and said “Follow me – It’s time you know”
Do you think you’d go?

(2:43) And what would you do for a king
If He took off his crown and agreed to die
And as you tried to understand it, He looked you in the eye and said,
“This is for you”
Well, what would you do?

Who Will Be Jesus

Bruce Carroll

(0:23) He came home from work last night, to find that she is gone,
Now He’s spending his first Sunday sitting in the pew alone,
There are whispers all around him, His heart breaks in two,
He’s wondering who will reach out and help him make it through,

(0:51) Who Will be Jesus to him?
Who’ll show the love that’s commanded in His word?
Will he see in us the mighty God we serve?,
Who will Be Jesus to him?

(1:32) She has a reputation like the woman at the well,
The only love she ever knew was the kind she buys and sells,
But her thirsty heart is searching for a love that will be true,
The Savior cries for her to see Himself in me and you,

(2:00) Who Will be Jesus to her?
Who’ll show the love that’s commanded in His word?
Will she see in us the mighty God we serve?,
Who will Be Jesus to her?

(2:31) Wounded People everywhere, and when they look at us, do they see Jesus there?

(2:47) Who Will be Jesus to Them?,
Who’ll show the love that restores Them again?,
Oh, They do not need a judge, They need a friend,
Who will Be Jesus to them?
Who will be Jesus to them?
Who will be Jesus to them?

What if I Give All

Ray Boltz

(0:11) He heard the preacher say
“A single dime could feed
A hungry boy or girl with
Nothing to eat”

(0:23) So he pulled a dollar from
From the pocket of his jeans
He asked his Mama
“How many will this feed?”
She just smiled when she told him ten
He reached back in again

(1:34) “What if I give all I have
What will that gift do?”
“My child a gift like that could change the world
Could feed a multitude!”
He didn’t close his eyes or turn away
I can see him standing tall
He saw the need and I can hear him say
“What if I give all?”

(1:34) Three birthday dollars could of bought a special toy
But he reminds of a another little boy
Who gave to Jesus a gift of fish and bread
I wonder if he said?

(1:57) “What if I give all I have
What will that gift do?”
“My child a gift like that could change the world
Could feed a multitude!”
He didn’t close his eyes or turn away
I can see him standing tall
He saw the need and I can hear him say
“What if I give all?”

(2:43) Long ago, a Father and His Son
Saw the children lost in sin
Can you see the tears in Father’s eyes
As Jesus says to him

(3:05) “What if I give all I have
What will that gift do?”
“My son that gift will change the world
It will feed the multitude”

(3:30) “So what if I give all I have
What will that gift do?
My child a gift like that could change the world
It could feed a multitude
We cannot close our eyes and turn away
When we hear his spirit call
We see the need, now let him hear us say
“What if I give all?
What if I give all?”

Watch the Lamb

Ray Boltz

(0:01) Walking On the Road To Jerusalem,
The time had come to sacrifice, Again.
My two small sons, They walked beside me down the road,
The reason that they came, Was to watch the lamb.

(0:31) “Daddy daddy, What will we see there?
There’s so much that we don’t understand,”
So I told them of Moses, And Father Abraham,
And then I said dear children, “Watch the lamb.
There will be so many, In Jerusalem today,
We must be sure the lamb Doesn’t run away,”
And I told them of Moses, And Father Abraham,
And I said “Dear children, Watch the lamb.”

(1:36) When we reached the city, I knew something must be wrong,
There were no joyful worshippers No joyful worship songs.
I stood there, With my children, In the midst of angry men,
Then I heard the crowd cry out, “Crucify Him!”

(2:14) We tried to leave the city, But we could not get away.
Forced to play in this drama, A part I did not wish to play,
Why upon this day were men condemned to die?
Why were we all standing here, When soon they would pass by?

(2:47) I looked and said, “Even now they come,”
The first one cried for mercy, The people gave him none.
The second one was violent, He was arrogant and loud,
I can still hear his angry voice, Screaming at the crowd.

(3:20) Then someone said, “There’s Jesus,”
I scarce believed my eyes,
A man so badly beaten, He barely looked alive.
Blood poured from His body, From the thorns on His brow,
Running down the cross, And falling to the ground.
I watched as He struggled, I watched Him as He fell,
The cross came down upon His back,
And the crowd began to yell.

(4:08) In that moment I felt such agony, In that moment I felt such loss,
Till the roman soldier grabbed my arm and screamed,
“YOU! Carry his cross!”
At first I tried to resist him,
But his hand reached for his sword,
So I knelt and I took The cross from the Lord.
I put it on my shoulders And started down the street
The blood that He’d been shedding,
Was running down my cheek.
They led us to Golgatha
They drove nails, Deep in His feet and hands.
And on the cross, I heard him pray,
“Father, forgive them…”

(5:28) Never have I seen such love In any other eyes
“Into thy hands I commit my spirit,”
He prayed, And then He died.
I stood for what seemed like years, I lost all sense of time,
Until I felt two tiny hands Holding tight to mine.
My children stood there weeping,
And I heard the oldest say “Father please forgive us,
The lamb, Ran away.

(6:32) Daddy daddy, What’ve we seen here,
There’s so much that we don’t understand,”
So I took them in my arms, We turned and faced the cross.
And I said, “Dear children Watch the lamb.”
